Circles SMC
Circles SMC empowers individuals and families by helping them move from poverty to economic stability through supportive relationships, goal-setting, and skill-building. Participants, called “Circle Leaders,” set personal goals to improve their financial, emotional, and social well-being. They are matched with trained community volunteers, known as “Allies,” who offer encouragement, connections, and practical support.
Through regular meetings, leadership training, and a structured system of accountability, Circle Leaders build confidence, expand their networks, and gain the tools needed to achieve lasting self-sufficiency. Circles USA shifts the focus from short-term aid to long-term empowerment, fostering a community where everyone works together to break the cycle of poverty.

Shall We Gather
Shall We Gather? is a short documentary video that, through spoken word and related American music, explores the history of racial segregation as it has impacted churches in St. Mary’s County, MD and its reverberations in the resent day.
These issues are illustrated by St. George’s Episcopal Church in Valley Lee, founded in 1638, and the way St. George’s of today seeks to reckon with its own racial history.
The project will include interviews with church and community leaders alongside musical performances that will be recorded in the St George’s sanctuary. Performances will include Rochelle Rice and a St. Mary’s County vocal group.
Contact Greg Syler or Eliza Garth for more information. Click here for full project description.
